Originally designed in 1983 and produced in plastic, the Lipstick Thermal carafe was an instant success. Today we have brought the design out of the archive and are reintroducing a new and improved version of the Lipstick thermal carafe as part of our 60th Anniversary celebration. We have updated the design with vacuum sealed double-wall stainless steel that keeps beverages hot for up to 6-hours. The stainless steel body is unbreakable and insulates up to 1-liter (34 oz.) of your favorite hot or cold beverage. The one-touch push button flow control valve helps to maintain the temperature because you don't need to remove the top to pour. The "lipstick" shape of the spout makes pouring on the go easy and reduces the chance of spilling. The matching stainless steel lid also acts as a cup. The improved Lipstick is an excellent example of the philosophy that has guided our designs for the past 60 years - "Good Design Should Not Be Expensive".

Even while it worked, the push-button pour release mechanism is difficult to clean and might harbor some nasty bacteria. It fell off the table in the lunchroom and promptly got two large dents in it. Keep looking. I bought this item about 8 months ago and it is now completely non-functional. The push-button release to pour coffee no longer works (sticks open only) and the bottom pad fell off. It's a cool looking design, but unfortunately not made of very good quality materials.
Unfortunately, I did not realize that the bottom dimension of this flask was so wide until I got it. By now travel flask manufacturers should know that a vessel that doesn't fit in the cupholder of an automobile is less useful and less saleable. It's a nice color and design, and would have been ideal if the bottom were tapered.
This is solidly built, easy to clean and keeps tea & coffee hot (scalding hot) for 6-7 hours. Never needed it to keep anything longer than 7 hours, but it's easy to say it will keep coffee comfortably hot for, at least, a couple more hours.Quick delivery from Target/Amazon.sean
